According to the project Managment institure (PMI):

  • A project is temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result.
  • Project management, is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.
  • Project management processes fall into one of following five groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and closing.
  • Project management knowledge draws on the following ten areas: Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Procurement. Human resources, Communications, Risk management, and Stakeholder management.

Wikiprojects is a web based project management  application that faciliate the collaboration and interaction of all project stakeholders during the diffent project phases and on all of the project managment knowledge areas in one single user-friendly, customizable and secure platform.

Wikiprojects is built on top of dotProject which is an opensource project management tool and uses additional add-on modules and customization so as to make it compatible with PMI-PMBOK project management processes.A high level interaction model of wikiprojects is illustrated in following diagram:
